Created a user interface for an artificial intelligence algorithm that evolves 3-dimensional forms, added more secure encryption, and refactored the software for a web-based application. The NASA Mars Laboratory Antenna’s shape was created using this 3D rendering tool.

NASA ProgPy
Description:
The NASA Prognostics Python Packages (ProgPy) are a set of open-source
Python packages supporting research and development of prognostics and
health management and predictive maintenance tools. They implement
architectures and common functionality of prognostics, supporting
researchers and practitioners. (NASA Software of the Year Award 2024)
Contribution | Jan. 2023 – Ongoing
ProgPy, prior to version 1.5, relied on a custom data container that
behaved as a dictionary with the use of a matrix and list as its data
structure, and a results class to then organize and view an experiment’s
resulting data. I demonstrated that pandas DataFrames would provide more
functionality and efficiency with the project if used as a data
structure. I have been refactoring ProgPy for pandas use and contributed
to the release of ProgPy 1.5. Version 1.5 introduced preliminary usage
of DataFrames, with full integration planned for version 1.6.
NASA — Fuel Cell Test Bed
Prognostics and Diagnostics, Sharp Lab
Description:
In 2018, the Prognostics and Diagnostics group planned to build a fuel
cell test bed. Data collected from the fuel cell test bed would be used
to create a fuel cell model to aid in future research. The project was
put on hold due to the pandemic.
Contribution | Jun. 2023 – Aug. 30, 2023
Volunteered to assemble the fuel cell test bed and went through the
process of taking inventory and consulting an expert to check the design.
The design used fittings that had been found to be unreliable in fuel
cell use; resulting contamination could have rendered collected data
useless and damaged the fuel cell’s platinum anode and cathode. I updated
the fittings, design diagrams, documentation, and created new
documentation on the correct procedure for assembly.
